Projects

My mission is to provide a renovation experience that leave you feeling heard, understood, and rewarded when the project is complete. My goal is to make the process comfortable for you and to receive and retain your trust so that you know your hard earned money is being well spent on your project at the place where you live; home.

From a farm in a small Northern BC town I moved to the Okanagan to pursue an engineering
degree at UBC-Okanagan. While completing the degree, I found a passion more for
construction than for engineering and so when I finished the degree I began an eight year
career in large scale commercial construction working on exciting projects like the KGH Interior Heart and Surgical Centre and Okanagan College Trades Building, to name a few.

In 2021 I switched gears to residential renovations and to working for myself. Having just
started life as a parent, the switch provided a more conducive opportunity for me to work on
being the kind of parent and husband I wanted to be. It has also allowed me to continue
working in the construction industry meanwhile connecting with and helping people in a very tangible way. I have found great joy in transforming and adding to people’s homes where we spend so much of our time.

My project never went through due to unexpected circumstances on my end but the communication with Martens Operations was top touch. Mike was very accommodating, willing to work within our budget and offered cost-saving suggestions. I highly recommend Martens Operations and will definitely go to them first for any future projects.

Highly recommended! Mike's professionalism, constant communication and fair pricing stands out from the crowd. We used Martens Operations to reconfigure electrical/plumbing for washer/dryer install, hot water tank replacement and ceiling install. While doing the washer/dryer work, Mike noticed that our HWT was leaking and quickly offered a solution after letting me know, and ensuring the area would be safe by turning off and draining the tank.

We were so pleased with Mike's professionalism and the quality of his work. Throughout the project we knew the timelines and when to expect him. He went above and beyond. In the height of Covid times he was so respectful and wore his mask and would lysol door handles and light switches at the end of each day. He oversaw all the subtrades and made it so easy for us. The quality of his work was excellent and the project came in exactly as he had quoted.

Got an estimate done to renovate my house. Mike did a beautiful 3D video for me that showed my house with all the walls removed and all the updates done. I was so impressed with it! His estimate came quickly, and at a rate that was so competitive compared to other contractors. Highly recommended!
